"Omar Sails was founded in 1978 when Paul and Sandy Lockwood decided to drop anchor in Beaufort NC and establish a sail making venture. They had encountered Beaufort, NC while cruising in their Hereshoff "P" class yacht, ENDLESS SUMMER. Response for the establishment of the business was overwhelming and they were embraced by the community. I took over the business from them in August of 2013 and we moved the business to New Bern, NC in December of 2014. I am eternally grateful for the training, mentorship and friendship I have received from them over the years." Craig Beavers
