I contracted Moda Lab for a fabric consultation for my first collection of satin/silk and lace robes, I met with Claudia. This is the way the consultation went: For our first meeting, we went over the styles I planned on producing. We discussed price, feel, look, and specifics in regards to fabric and the garment as a whole. I brought swatches of other fabrics I had sourced on my own through little shows and my own research, that were either too expensive, not in stock, etc. Then, Claudia sources the fabrics, 5 per each style, and presents them to you with swatches and her own educated perspective in the second half of the consult. I highly highly recommend this service and I highly recommend working with Claudia, whether you are new to this industry or not. She has a fashion background based in Milan and working relationships with factories, mills, and manufacturers. She goes out of her way to find you the best products for your product and SHE KNOWS THE GARMENT MAKING INDUSTRY. She is able to interpret your design/idea whether you have samples or not. She gets it. period. I was very happy with our fabric sourcing consult, I would totally use her again for my next collection and I would 100% recommend her to anyone either starting, needing a specific/special kind of fabric, etc. Its 100% worth it.
