Single-tone vector engraving on glossy black acrylic.
Reclaimed redwood, engraved using both raster and vector data. The engraving was performed over multiple passes, creating a range of depths/intensities.

Many tests are run to dial in the settings for raster engraving. On clear, cast acrylic the laser mark appears white so we usually invert the colors of photographs for best results.
The laser is a great tool for experimenting with typography. Letters can be easily cut out of paper and other materials to create unique, highly visible effects in books, posters, signage and more.
Acrylic laminate is available in a wide array of colors and finishes. Engraving from the font, back or both sides (depending on the type), produces high-contrast, durable marks. A good choice for signage.
