Collegiate Enterprises, LLC started when the owner's son was a student at Louisiana State University. At that time, President and CEO Darrell Shaw became aware of the enormous role a school's mascot plays in generating team spirit. In the case of LSU, the mascot was a tiger. In 1988 production of tiger tails began on a small scale for handful of customers. As the tails were seen more frequently around the stadiums, the demand for them grew rapidly. By the early 1990s, Shaw began contacting other schools whose mascot is a tiger-Clemson, Auburn, and Missouri, for example-as well as high schools with teams known as the Tigers. They ordered the tails, too. As the business grew and demand for the products increased, we added new items including tiger ears and tiger paws. Fans were thrilled! And 25 years later, those schools are still buying their tails, paws, and ears from Collegiate Enterprises, LLC.
