Cheryl Potter is a fiber artist and author, but is best known as the founder of Cherry Tree Hill Yarn. She has a BA from Middlebury College and an MFA from the University of Arizona. After earning her Master of Fine Arts degree, Cheryl began dyeing yarn and designing garments an old milk house on her farm on Cherry Tree Hill in East Montpelier, Vermont. There she was discovered by Interweave Press in 1987 and was featured that same year in Interweave Knits magazine. Since that time she has designed for all of the major knitwear publications and taught handpaint classes all over the world. She has authored numerous magazine articles, designed colorways and patterns and is the author of 8 books. Her most recent effort is the first book of the Potluck Yarn Trilogy called The Broken Circle: Yarns of the Knitting Witches.
