Chameleon Like Inc

Launched in the spring of 1998 by two young French-American entrepreneurs (Emmanuel Marchand and Pierre Martichoux), Chameleon Books & Journals, Inc. has made its goal to design, manufacture and market a contemporary, streamlined range of stationery products, such as journals, photo albums, artist portfolios and sketchpads. Sourcing most of their innovative raw materials from Europe (France, Italy, Austria), using quality US craftsmanship, and continental modern designs, Chameleon has established its flexible and efficient manufacturing facility in Northern California. It has focused on bringing a line of reasonably priced stationery products with a fresh, eye-catching look. In 1998, Emmanuel and Pierre took a chance and decided to bring in large inventory of translucent, bright, and colorful polypropylene materials. A few months later, Apple Computer was launching its line of candy-colored i-Macs, starting a major trend where colored frosted translucent plastics became the dominant fashionable look. In 2002, Chameleon introduced a large selection of imported pastel-colored leathers to make up a completely new line of leather bound journals. Most recently, it has successfully marketed a range of wearable mini necklace journals that are selling in many retail stores, from Art Supply outlets to Museum stores and Gift Specialty boutiques. In 2006, the company is poised to introduce its Ã'GlossÃ" collection, using new translucent, glossy, thick vinyl covers matched with contrasted stitched leathers.
